Lisa M. Colon founded Lakeside Women’s Obstetrics & Gynecology in 2003 after earning her medical degree at Tulane University School of Medicine and completing her residency at Tulane’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).
An outspoken advocate for women’s health care, Dr. Colon stays on the forefront of obstetric and gynecologic research and technology, incorporating the very latest advances into her work. Her relaxed and compassionate demeanor infuses all aspects of her practice, with physicians and staff both taking sincere interest in every patient.
Dr. Colon specializes in well-woman care for all life stages, as well as routine and high-risk obstetrics and minimally-invasive surgery. She is an active staff physician at Tulane-Lakeside Hospital and East Jefferson Hospital in Metairie, Louisiana.
In addition to dedicating herself to her medical practice, Dr. Colon serves on the board of directors of New Orleans Medical Mission Services, where she organizes and attends humanitarian trips into international regions with insufficient medical care. Dr. Colon lives in Lakeview with her family, including a five year old daughter.
